6th Annual Scholarship and Recognition Awards

On Saturday, June 3rd we celebrated our 6th Annual Scholarship and Recognition Awards. I cannot help but reflect on our journey, which started on December 20th, 2010. Our members of St.Lucian heritage were sure of one thing, we wanted to make sure that our efforts would go towards EMPOWERING others especially our youth. This is why we focused on education. The scholarship amount is not as much as we would like, but it has been consistent for the past 6 years.

In total, we have awarded 31 STUDENTS with this award.

Congratulations to all of our scholarship recipients!

Thanks to everyone who has supported us on our mission.

Esther Ducas (Haiti),  Ruthnie Auguste ( Haiti), Ahnyia Sander (Jamaica), Joezer Pascal (Haiti), Leandra Oscar (St.Lucia), Makayla Nicholas (U.S Virgin Islands)

Disaster Alliance Coalition - Dominica & U.S

Virgin Island Hurricane relief

This October, Children of Helen Alliance Inc. joined the long-running Disaster Alliance Coalition, a co-operation consisting of 6 non-profit organizations including Jamaicans of the Palm Beaches, C.A.R.E, C.A.F.C.I, United Sports Club, the Grace Episcopal Church, and now Children of Helen Alliance Inc. Disaster Alliance Coalition mission is to provide aid to Caribbean Islands that are affected by natural disasters. This year unfortunately many Caribbean Islands such as Dominica and the U.S Virgin Islands, were destroyed by the catastrophic Hurricane Maria. Due to the power of donations and volunteered help, we were able to provide over 150 boxes of hygienic products and food items to the affected families in Dominica. A 20ft container containing multiple cases of water, food items, insect repellent, paper towel, solar flashlights, etc. were also shipped to the affected families of the U.S Virgin Islands.
